Process

This is the process you must follow to successfully complete this assignment:

This assignment will be completed during class over the course of three days. If you are unable to complete the assignment in the time given, it is your responsibility to complete it outside of class.

The information and details presented in your journal entries will come from what you have learned so far in your studies of the West and from the internet links from on the Resources page.

Requirements:

You will create three separate Journals/Diaries for the three types of people listed in the Task: Homesteader, Railroad Worker, and Cowboy

The diaries will be typed on the provided template found in your Google Classroom

Each journal/diary will contain a minimum of three entries

Each entry will be at least five sentences in length

Entries must include information such as: where you live, experiences in the West, descriptions of the environment and climate, and more

Each of three journals must include:

    • facts from your class notes/textbook and key vocabulary terms.
    • When writing your journal, BOLD the information from notes and your vocabulary terms.
    • You must use at a mix of at least 15 notes facts and vocab terms (combined) in your journal. If you do not bold this information, you will not receive credit.
    • Additionally, you must include information from at least one of the online resources in each journal.
    • UNDERLINE the information you find on the websites.

Your assignment will be turned in via Google Classroom. Login to the Mr. Malone's Google Classroom and access the assignment for the The West Transformed Webquest. Create your Journal from the provided template. When you are finished, click Turn In to send Mr. Malone your final work.

The due date for your journal/diary is Friday, 10/12. Five points will be deducted per day late. The assignment will not be accepted after one week.

Your final work will be graded based on the rubric found on the Evaluation page.
